I Like Strong Black Coffee, And ART…

I am excited to share with the world my most recent hand-made book.

The whole book is based on thick canvas paper, re-photographs, textured papers, film negatives, cellophane and aluminium foil papers, polaroids, drawings and water/acrylai colors, crafts, and many more surprises.

Click here to view the album full screen on my website

The book is featuring Variety of test shoots, jobs and productions between January-June 2012.

I know online it’s the only way to share with the other side of the world, but everyone are more than welcome to come to my studio in Beverly Hills to view it in person.

Thank you for everyone was being a part of it or future to be a part of my next projects!

Paris Retrospective // Film By Keith Lancaster

Paris Retrospective // film by Keith Lancaster from Benjo Arwas on Vimeo.

During my recent trip to Paris, my girlfriend, Sidney Kraemer (, took a footage of me shooting around the city as well as behind the scenes pieces and Keith Lancaster ( followed me to document my photography ,my thoughts ,and my journey and put it all together to create this video piece. I wasn’t ready and wasn’t prepared, but the best stuff happens when your’e not ready, right?

So thank you Keith for the great opportunity to visually share my thoughts and thank you Sidney for always being there for me.
Thanks to all the teams, creative people and talents: Michelle Catillon, Davide Pereira Palos, Katia Ren, Raquel Crispim, Marianna Giordana, Christine Aimee, Coppelia Pique, Metropolitan Models, and all the other colleges that help and were around from Brooks Institute. PS- the person that sold me the 4X5 in the US, thanks sooo much!

FACTICE Magazine, October 2012. “FALL BLOOMING”

One of my favorite stories i have done so far.

The model’s beauty, used all natural light on location, the featured designers and style, and the large format photography all just merged into a well done story.

The featured designers are The world wide respected French-Canadian couturier Lloyd Klein, Tony Cohen and Monique Conllignon.

All the story has been shoot on 4X5 film and Polaroids, with natural light studio we built outside of my studio. Fun day. The 4×5 camera movements allowed me to play with the plane of focus and to tilt and shift the focus as you can notice in some of the images.

I invited Joe Berhosky (, an extra ordinary photographer that shooting 8X10 wet plates in collodion process and B&W paper negatives, to create couple of photographs  in his technique and perspective. turned out brilliant and it’s going to be featured in a magazine on upcoming November, i will add the link here and examples as soon as it’s out. Thank you Joe for your participation.

As for the team, Berenice Gallegos, the brilliant makeup and hair stylist played each outfit with a different touch and style for the hair, using flowers and props to add more feeling for the “Blooming” and the color palate. Jordan Swain and Esther Kang made a well done styling pull from Tony and Monique that just fitted into the background and filled the story with great color palate of the complementary colors – green/magenta.

I cast adorable Noora Lappi with the Finish/Nordic bone structure from Pinkerton Models, La / ELITE, NYC to join me again, after working with her before with the team in editorial we shoot in Palm Springs a month earlier. we enjoyed her vibes and her look and really wanted to make another story specific with her.

Sidney Kraemer and Nick Korompilas were my assistants and were running on set building the studio outside and took the 4X5 stress off of me by heading me holders, changing film, loading and marking. well appreciate! Eventually Nick made a behind the scenes video to memorize the day.

Thank you everyone for good times and for the artistic creative vibes.

Heading to Europe for the summer – Some good old news and new page in my life

Today, June 10th, 2012 i’m heading to Europe for the whole summer.

Packed with over 100 4X5 black and white sheets, 20 packs of polaroids, 50 rolls of 120mm film, couple of cloths and a camera, im ready to begin the unknown journey.

Looking forward to discover, to connect, to explore, to get lost and to create.

My main goals by going overseas this time, is to get inspired. to bring with me something new. to do more research and to develop more design in my eyes. and of course to have some fun, to study, to enjoy my beautiful girlfriend and to meet new people, networking and travel.

The past month was hectic with lots of jobs and projects. Videos and Editorials. Celebrities and Actors, Models and Artists coming into my studio non stop and blessing me with their beauty. Thank you everyone for being a part.

Article about my photography in DODHO MAGAZINE and being featured on June 2012 – issue #3.

As well, i had great opportunity to photograph and to create a whole 2013 Calendar + Poster to the funny, charismatic, awesome actor – Texas Battle (The Bold And The Beautiful, Final Destination 3, Death Valley, Couch Carter and others..)

Texas is great character in person and it was pleasure to photograph him in different moods, scenarios and stages. And of course to capture his personality and his lifestyle.

Here is just a small teaser from what to be feature. Follow Texas on Twitter @Texas1Battle and on to stay in touch with him and to see the full calendar when its out in Mid – June! Special thanks to Matt Lundin and Theresa Broadnax.
